The City of Medicine Hat Electric Generation department has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join their team. As the Maintenance Planner, you will be accountable for identifying and managing all factors relevant to achieving safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective maintenance/outage planning activities. Our ideal candidate Demonstrates strong technical proficiency in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation trade disciplines. Has a solid understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, best practices, and technologies. Possesses familiarity with industrial plant operations, plant equipment, repair techniques and resource planning to develop work plans for routine and non-routine maintenance and unit outages. Has demonstrated ability to read and interpret equipment specifications, engineering drawings, single line diagrams, and isometric drawings. Has solid computer skills in a network environment utilizing CMMS and MS Office Suite. Has strong planning, organization, and multi-tasking skills. Is experienced in developing work plans and producing high-quality job packages from maintenance work requests. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure coordination of work and completion of tasks are achieved in an effective and efficient manner. Qualifications Successful completion of a Journeyman Trades Certificate in either electrical or mechanical discipline. Five (5) years maintenance planning experience at an industrial facility, preferably power generation. Possess a Valid Class 5 Alberta's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. An equivalent combination of management approved training and experience may be considered. This position has been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.
